JOB FOCUS:
To administer the Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE), Learning Needs Screening (LNS), Emotional Health Inventory (EHI) and WorkKeys assessment tools to groups of individuals upon referral from local Department of Health and Human Resource offices.

 QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Four-year degree from an accredited institution with a minimum 2.5 GPA or professional teaching certificate or eligibility for an Adult Education teacher license.
2. Prior experience in teaching adults preferred, particularly at-risk populations.
3. Knowledge of the characteristics of adult learners preferred.
4. Understanding of diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds.
5. Daytime and evening availability required.
6. Attend 4 hours of pre-service prior to conducting the first assessment session.
7. Ability to work cooperatively with the local Department of Health and Human Resources office and SPOKES program.
8. Ability to work effectively as a member of an educational team.
9. Possess excellent organizational skills and ability to use technology in the responsibilities of this position.

 RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Administer TABE, LNS, EHI and WorkKeys assessments to client/student referrals from local DHHR offices
2. Prepare local and state reports as required by the AE/TANF program
3. Coordinate TABE, LNS, EHI and WorkKeys assessment sessions with local DHHR offices
4. Communicate closely with the local West Virginia DHHR offices
5. Effectively works as a member of an educational team
6. Demonstrates confidentiality, ethical and good work habits, including punctuality and attendance
7. Perform other duties related to the AE/TANF program
8. Travels to multiple counties to conduct assessment sessions
9. Provides copies of assessment outcomes and Learning Needs Screening (LNS) and Emotional Health Inventory (EHI) to local DHHR in a timely manner
10. Attend assessment staff meetings and professional development conferences as scheduled
11. Performs other tasks as assigned by the Executive Director/Designee.

TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: 240 days; salary in accordance with MSESC policy. This position is a will and pleasure employee of the Mountain State ESC. Continuation of the position is dependent upon funding, enrollment and program performance.

EVALUATION: Performance of the job will be evaluated in accordance with the State Board Policy 5310 and MESEC policy.
