SPOKES
SPOKES is a program consisting of work-based academics, job preparation skills, and vocational training in the area of customer service under contract between the WWDE Office of Adult Education and Workforce Development and the Department of Health and Human Resources (DHHR) in collaboration with the Workforce Development Boards (WDBs).
This program provides classes with intense daily activities that address work-based academics; “soft skills” necessary for adults to pursue and retain gainful employment; and vocational training in customer service.
DHHR and WV Works customers are referred to the program and receive services on “any given Monday.” The SPOKES class is a ten-week program consisting of assessment, job readiness, work process skills, computer skills, WorkKeys academics, vocational training in customer service, and intensive job search with a Career Development Consultant.

Christina is the SPOKES Specialist for Mountain State ESC and the WVDE. She has worked with the SPOKES and TANF programs for the past 19 years.
She provides services and support statewide to SPOKES and TANF clients, as well as, SPOKES and TANF staff members. She implements research-based curriculum into the SPOKES programs in addition to organizing and managing systems related to curriculum and instruction. She provides technical support and training to staff members. She administers TABE and WorkKeys assessments to TANF and WV Works clients.
She holds an A.S. in Accounting earned in 1999. She is a graduate of Mountain State University earning a B.S. in Organizational Leadership in 2011 and earned a M.S. in Strategic Leadership in 2012.

Tyrone Robinson currently serves as an Assessment Specialist with Mountain State Education Services Cooperative. He has served as an assessment specialist since 2014 with the Department of Education and serves 22 counties state wide.
In his assessment role he administers the Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE), WorkKeys, Emotional Health Inventory and Learning Needs screening.
Tyrone is a graduate of West Virginia University with a B.A. in Sociology and Anthropology. He was also a member of the WVU football team.
