Mid Ohio Valley Region Adult Education Coordinator

Julie graduated from Marshall University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education (K-6 comprehensive) and a Master’s Degree in Adult and Technical Education, with an emphasis on Adult Education. She has been employed with Adult Education since April 2008 in the roles of Hit the Ground Running Instructor, Workplace Education Instructor, Adult Education Instructor, SPOKES Instructor and Regional Coordinator. She holds a Professional Teaching Certificate, an Adult License and a Technology Integration Specialist Advanced Credential. In addition, she is also an AEMIS Data Steward, an Assessment Specialist, a Microsoft Office Specialist, a Microsoft Innovative Educator and IC3 certified. Julie has presented over 70 Adult Education and technology-related sessions at conferences on local, regional, state and national levels. She currently serves as the President of the West Virginia Adult Education Association.

North Central Region Adult Education Coordinator

Anne graduated from Fairmont State College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education K-8 and from Marshall University with a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education. She has been the Regional Coordinator for Adult Education in the North Central Region since 2012.  She has served as Treasurer of the West Virginia Adult Education Association since 2015.

Northern Region Adult Education Coordinator

Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration/Management from West Liberty University.  Master’s Degree in Higher Education Administration from WVU.   Previously worked as Assistant Dean of Student Affairs at West Liberty University and Director of Academic Support Services at WV Northern Community College.   Has been the Adult Education Coordinator & Assessment Specialist for the Northern Region for 15 years.   In addition, has served as vice president and president of the WV Adult Education Association.  Currently serves as Executive Director of WVAEA.   Is a Board of Directors member with the Northern Panhandle Workforce Development Board, St. John’s Home for Children, and Friends of the College (WVNCC) as well as a member of the education advisory council for both the Northern Regional Jail/Correctional Facility and St. Mary’s Correctional Center.

South West Region Adult Education Coordinator

Marsha graduated from Asbury College with a degree in Elementary Education and a master’s degree in classroom instruction from the West Virginia College of Graduate studies.  She taught 32 years in Kanawha County Schools and 6 years at Bible Center School.  She joined the Kanawha County Adult Education family the fall of 2001 as a part-time adult education instructor.  In 2010 she took on the role of Kanawha County Adult Education Coordinator.  She now serves as regional coordinator for the South West Region of Mountain State ESC.

Professional Development Coordinator Liz Johnson joined WV Adult Education as an instructor in 2010. She has been in her current position since 2017. Before joining WVAdultEd, she worked in publishing, training, marketing, and survey research. She has a master’s degree in Adult and Technical Education from Marshall University.

Rebecca is the Distance Education and Professional Development Coordinator for West Virginia Adult Education.  She provides technical assistance and training statewide on distance learning software, student certificates/certifications, and technology.  Rebecca provides support to programs as a Technology Integration Specialist, an AEMIS Data Steward, and a member of the WV Adult Ed onsite team.  Rebecca is a graduate of West Virginia State University with a Bachelor of Science in Social Work.  She obtained masters’ degrees in Counseling and Special Education, a Program Evaluation Certificate, and an Education Specialist Degree from Marshall University.

Pam is the Special Projects Coordinator for West Virginia Adult Education.  She manages pre-service training for new instructors and the peer training program on a statewide level.  Pam creates and delivers training on various topics, with specific emphasis on serving adults with disabilities.  She specializes in serving adults with low level literacy, testing accommodations, and assessment.  Pam has fourteen years of experience in training literacy volunteers and teachers to work with adults with reading problems.  She holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Marshall University.

Jane is a Program Assistant for Mountain State ESC and the Kanawha County Adult Education Office. She earned an A.A.S. Degree in Marketing from West Virginia State University and has written articles for local newspapers. She has worked in PreK-12 and adult education before transitioning to join the MSESC Team.
For the past four years, Jane has enjoyed working with an awesome group of AdultEd Instructors. She also coordinates the annual Adult Education Graduation for students receiving recognition for fulfilling their TASC requirements.
Jane is now providing additional support with purchasing and payables in the finance office of MSESC. She looks forward to working with team members statewide, government agencies and industry to build successful ventures with Mountain State ESC.

Kay Mann was raised in Gilmer County, WV, graduated from Morris Harvey College with a B.A. in Education with concentrations in English & Business, earned her MA at Pfeiffer University in Charlotte, NC, in Leadership and Change Management.She became a part of MSESC in July of this year, where she works with Payroll, issues requisitions for purchase orders, answers the main phone line and directs callers to appropriate personnel.
