Position: Distance Education and Professional Development Coordinator
Salary: Based on experience and qualifications.

Qualifications:
1. A minimum of a Master’s degree.
2. Knowledge of Adult Education and characteristics of the adult learner required.
3. Extensive knowledge of computers in the use of spreadsheets, word processing, Internet navigation, e-mail, database and desktop publishing.
4. Experience in distance education and professional development preferred.
5. Ability to schedule, organize, prioritize, and perform multiple projects with minimal supervision.
6. Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
7. Able to travel within the state or out-of-state as needed.

Resume Must Include:
1. List of educational institutions attended, course of study, dates attended, and certificates earned.
2. List of employers for the past ten years, including address and name of immediate supervisor(s).
3. Description of responsibilities/work experiences in previous employment.

POSITION:
Distance Education and Professional Development Coordinator

REPORTS TO:
MSESC Executive Director

LOCATIONS:
South West Region

QUALIFICATIONS:

RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Work collaboratively with the adult education team
2. Work effectively with adult education students, instructors and other state/local staff
3. Manage the process for adult education instructors to become certified distance education instructors
4. Provide technical support for distance education software, industry certification preparation/testing software, and statewide online assessments
5. Plan and deliver training on software curricula and industry certifications
6. Manage online software licenses and industry certifications to maximize usage
7. Utilize the Adult Education Management Information System (AEMIS) to monitor the distance education program and record professional development
8. Collaborate with Director of Adult Education to review new programs for online curricula.
9. Setup software evaluations and compile results for the Director of Adult Education.
10. Maintain the WV Adult Education website
11. Create online surveys and registration forms for training and evaluation
12. Coordinate with Marshall University Graduate College to develop non-degree graduate credit courses for professional development
13. Collaborate in the revision of professional development publications including the Instructor Handbook, core training modules, pre-service training materials, and the WV Adult Education LiveBinder
14. Develop budgets, monitor expenses, and maintain financial records related to distance learning programs and industry certifications
15. Work in collaboration with Regional Coordinators and State Staff to conduct data quality audits and on-site reviews
16. Obtain quotes and initiate the purchasing process for distance education products and industry certifications
17. Issue user accounts for industry certifications, certificate programs, and digital badges
18. Operate the WV Adult Education hotline to provide information or forward calls
19. Serve as West Virginia’s affiliate partner for the LINCS project, sponsored through the US Department of Education and the National Institute for Literacy
20. Promote the use of LINCS resources within WV Adult Education
21. Performs other tasks as assigned by the Executive Director/Designee.

This position is a will and pleasure employee of the Mountain State ESC. Continuation of the position is
dependent upon funding, enrollment and program performance.
