Position: Device and Communication Technology Systems Specialist Manager

Qualifications:
- Holds a current Technology Systems Specialist certification or qualifies for one, as defined in State Board Policy 5202.
- 2+ years of experience in inventory management
Certification/Renewal
- Holds a minimum of an associate’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education.
- Possess one valid Advanced Level I Certification and one NET+ Certification as approved by the WVDE.
- Completion of at least 15 hour of in-service credit offered or approved by the WVDE.

Responsibilities:
- Reports/works directly to the county Technology Director
- Tracks incoming and outgoing devices
- Provides inventory reports as needed
- Updates database with incoming and outgoing devices
- Completes repairs on district devices
- Manages student 1:1 devices on local MDM
- Assists with loading and unloading deliveries
- Recommendation to dispose of obsolete inventory as needed
- Maintain parts in stock for necessary repairs
- Contacts appropriate resources (county, vendors, warranty providers, WVDE) for assistance and support.
- Make recommendations to leadership about improvements in life cycle of devices
- Responsible for installation, configuration, and service maintenance
- Is the point of contact with the WVDE for district routers
- Maintain all systems of support for communication
- Plan, test, and deploy networking products, software and migrations.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for students in a virtual setting seeking technical assistance over the phone or email.
- Performs remote troubleshooting through diagnostic techniques and pertinent questions.
- Performs other duties as required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Possesses knowledge of hardware and technical software for networks, servers, 1:1 devices, and communication systems
- Knowledgeable with Google Admin, Apple School, and Lightspeed
- Ability to maintain accurate detailed records
- Ability to analyze network data

- Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship with other employees
- Communicates effectively with all levels of technology users
