Position:              Adult Education Professional Development Coordinator

Location:              Statewide – based out of the Dunbar MSESC Office

Salary:                   Based on experience and qualifications.

Qualifications:

  1. A minimum of a master’s Degree.
  2. Adult Education classroom experience preferred.
  3. Demonstrates experience and working knowledge of all aspects of Adult Education.
  4. Experience with the Adult Education Data Management System.
  5. Extensive knowledge of computers, technology, and distance education platforms.
  6. Excellent organizational, communication, and financial management skills.
  7. Must be able to travel within the state or out-of-state as needed.

 

Resume Must Include

1.            List of educational institutions attended, course of study, dates attended, and certificates earned.
2,            List of employers for the past ten years, including address and name of immediate supervisor(s).
3.            Description of responsibilities/work experiences in previous employment.

 REPORTS TO:   MSESC Executive Director

 LOCATIONS:     Statewide – – based out of the Dunbar MSESC Office

  7. Must be able to travel within the state or out-of-state as needed.

 EXPECTATIONS:

  1. Works effectively as a member of an education team (local, regional, statewide).

  3. Demonstrates good work habits such as punctuality and attendance.
  4. Works effectively with partner agencies such as County CTE Directors, businesses, media groups, and other local, regional, state programs.
  5. Communicates regularly with the MSESC Director, the Office of Adult Education and state and regional Adult Education staff.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 Works collaboratively as a Professional Development Team to:

  1. Provide support to classroom instructors to accommodate adults with disabilities or special learning needs including selection of materials, assistive devices or other items required.
  2. Ensure training materials contain the most current policies, law or legislation from partner organizations such as Workforce WV, Department of Health and Human Resources, Department of Rehabilitative Services, and WV Department of Education.
  3. Present relevant training related to Adult Education for staff, instructors or others as needed (local, regional or statewide).
  4. Assist state coordinator with TABE assessment policies and procedures.
  5. Revise and update publications including the Instructor Handbook, core training modules, pre-service materials, and the professional development portal.
  6. Develop surveys needed to further the mission of Adult Education.
  7. Prepare the yearly budget, monitor expenses, and maintain financial records.
  8. Oversee the Adult Education Hotline (Dunbar Office).

Manages statewide digital platforms to:

  1. Assist instructors to become distance education certified.
  2. Maximize the usage of online software and industry recognized credentials in the classroom.
  3. Coordinate training on software curricula and industry certifications.
  4. Evaluate and recommend new online opportunities for adults.
  5. Provide as needed technical assistance for classroom instructors on digital learning platforms.
  6. Collaborate with vendors to resolve technical issues.
  7. Create instructor and student accounts for online platforms.
  8. Utilize the Adult Education Data System (LACES) to monitor distance education.
  9. Collaborate with Accountability Team to provide data for onsite reviews, technical assistance or as a requirement of a corrective action plan.
  10. Coordinate with Marshall University Graduate College to develop non-degree graduate credit courses.
  11. Performs other tasks as assigned by the Executive Director.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: This position is a will and pleasure employee of the Mountain State ESC.  Continuation of the position is dependent upon funding, enrollment and program performance.

SALARY: Per current Mountain State Educational Services Cooperative Salary Schedule
