Position: Kanawha County AE Assessment Specialist (Part-time)
Salary: Based on experience and qualifications.
Qualifications:
1. Four year degree from an accredited institution with a minimum 2.5 GPA or professional teaching certificate or eligibility for an Adult Education license
2. Maintain valid state certification (teaching certificate or adult license)
3. Knowledge of the characteristics of adult learners preferred
4. Understanding of diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds
5. Experience administering the TABE (Test of Adult Basic Education) and the TRA (Test Readiness Assessment) preferred
6. Experience registering qualifying students for the TASC (Test Assessing Secondary Completion) preferred
7. Day and evening availability is required
8. Ability to work effectively as a member of an educational team
9. Possess excellent organizational skills and ability to use technology in the responsibilities of this position
10. Demonstrate confidentiality, ethical and excellent work habits, including punctuality and attendance

LOCATION: South West Region

RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Conduct Orientation sessions for new students in Adult Education
2. Refer new students to appropriate agencies and resources as needed
3. Administer TABE and TRA
4. Register qualifying students for the TASC
5. Provide copies of assessment outcomes to students and instructors
6. Communicate closely with Adult Education instructors
7. Perform other duties as related to the Adult Education program
8. Attend staff meetings and professional development opportunities as required
9. Performs other tasks as assigned by the Executive Director/Designee
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: Recommended by the MSESC Executive Director Confirmed by the MSESC Governing Council
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: This position is a will and pleasure employee of the Mountain State ESC. Continuation of the position is dependent upon funding, enrollment and program performance.
