Position: Academic Fair Facilitator-Cabell County

Qualifications:

  1. Must hold a West Virginia Professional Teaching Certificate
  2. Must have experience working with academic fairs, with experience at the county/state level of academic fairs preferred
  1. Must be able meet multiple demands from several people and interact professionally and appropriately with the public and other staff members.
  2. Must be familiar and proficient in using technology, such as computers and multimedia equipment

Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct workshops for teachers, parents and students on the processes, research, development and regulations for fair projects.
  2. Provide assistance to teachers and students on fairs
  3. Encourage student participation at all levels and abilities
  4. Communicate dates for academic fairs to all public schools and private schools
  5. Prepare judges’ sheets for fairs
  6. Coordinate and organize resources and oversee county academic fairs
  7. Obtain judges as needed for school and fairs
  8. Schedule and reserve facilities
  9. Responsible for ordering and distributing awards
  10. Set up and cleanup all fairs
  11. Attend regional and state fairs as needed
  12. Must be able to effectively communicate scoring with participants and parents
  13. Publicize the results of the fairs and report winners to the state and region
  1. Anyone accepting this position is mandated to report suspected abuse and neglect
  2. Monitor students to ensure they are picked up by the appropriate parent or guardian
  3. Adhere to Cabell County rules, regulations, and policies
  4. All work must be done outside normal work hours if currently employed by the district
  5. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Executive Director

  2. Maintains a professional relationship with administrators, staff, students, families and all other individuals who are encountered through professional duties
  3. Be flexible and dependable in completing duties assigned
  4. Demonstrates excellent work habits, including punctuality and attendance
  5. Demonstrates enthusiasm and contributes to a positive work environment
  6. Prioritizes responsibilities and job requirements.
