Position:                      Bus Operator Trainer
Employment Term:    Part-time (dependent upon funding and need per county)
Salary:                         $30.00/hour

Qualifications:

  1. High school graduate or equivalent.
  2. A minimum of Class “B” CDL with P and S endorsements.
  3. Certified state school bus operator with a minimum of two years of experience.
  4. Must obtain school bus operator trainer certification through the WVDE.
  5. Knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations related to school bus operators.
  6. Skill in operating a bus and troubleshooting minor problems.
  7. Ability to teach required subjects to obtain state school bus operator’s certification.
  8. Ability to provide effective instruction and set a good example in soft skills categories (i.e. ability to effectively communicate with staff, peers and community).
  9. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  10. Evidence of effective oral and written communications.
  11. Proficiency in basic computer skills and presentation skills.
  12. Ability to keep accurate records regarding all training provided.
  13. Willingness to work flexible hours required to accommodate the availability of trainees
